Addictions

Addiction is a chronic, relapsing disorder characterized by compulsive substance use or behaviors despite harmful consequences. It involves changes in brain function that affect decision-making, impulse control, and emotional regulation, and is often associated with co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, or trauma-related disorders.

From a faith-based perspective, addiction can also be understood as a struggle that impacts the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. While it can lead to feelings of brokenness and disconnection, healing is possible through a combination of evidence-based treatment, supportive relationships, and spiritual renewal. Through grace, hope, and compassionate care, individuals can experience restoration and move toward a life of purpose and freedom.
