EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process and heal from distressing experiences. EMDR is commonly used to address trauma, anxiety, and other overwhelming life events that may continue to impact thoughts, emotions, and daily functioning.
During EMDR therapy, you remain fully awake and in control while your therapist guides you through specific techniques that help the brain reprocess difficult memories in a healthier way. Over time, these memories often become less intense and less disruptive.
At Friends Counseling Center, EMDR is provided in a safe, supportive environment where your pace and comfort are prioritized. Our goal is to help reduce emotional distress, strengthen resilience, and support lasting healing.
