Michael Johnson, LCSW

Clinical Director

Mike Johnson, LCSW, has been working in the mental health field since 1988, when he earned his Master's degree in Social Work from IUPUI. He served at Life Center Counseling for over 27 years and is grateful to continue that work as the Clinical Director at Friends Counseling Center, Inc.

Mike's approach to therapy has been shaped by his faith in Jesus Christ, which has been integral to his own healing journey. He views his work as a way of stewarding the grace he has received. Theorist Carl Rogers emphasized that healing occurs through relationships grounded in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. Mike believes that people grow and heal when they feel fully seen, accepted without judgment, and free to be their authentic selves.  Additionally, Mike is an active participant in the local church and the community and serves on the board of the Marion Housing Authority.
